SSgt Nicanor Caboteja Jr. was born July 1, 1976. Nick joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1996. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and was honored to provide security measures during the Iraqi’s milestone free elections in January 2005. He deployed multiple times with the 31stMEU from 2004-2005.
Nick passed away suddenly on March 8, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Brigitte, and daughters. We were honored to meet Brigitte in 2017 at a Survivors of Heroes Retreat.
