John Alton

SFC John Alton was born on March 14, 1971 in Fort Devens, MA. He graduated from high school in 1990 and enlisted in the US Army. He served in the Army as a Combat Engineer for the 2nd Engineer Battalion in 1990. John served two tours in Iraq and three tours in Afghanistan. On January 22, 2005, John married Carrie. At the time of his death, John was serving with Operations Company, Division. Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. John passed away from a heart attack on August 2, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie, and 2 children. Carrie attended a Survivors of Heroes Retreat in 2019.
